Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oatsÂ
2 small ripe bananas, mashed
2 tbsp peanut butterÂ
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 handful chocolate chips
1 tsp cinnamon (optional, but highly recommended)
Method:
1. First, preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a small loaf tin with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
3. Next, stir in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and cinnamon until everything is well mixed.
4. Then, add the oats and chocolate chips. Mix gently until the ingredients are combined evenly.
5. After that, transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf tin and spread it out evenly.
6. Bake for 10 minutes if you want soft and gooey bars, or bake for 12–15 minutes for a firmer and crispier texture.
7. Finally, let the bars cool for 5 minutes before slicing.
8. Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Alternatively, keep them in the fridge for up to a week.
Tips:
- For extra crunch, add a handful of chopped nuts or seeds.
- You can also swap chocolate chips for dried fruit if you prefer a naturally sweeter version.
